The optical system of the APO-Televid 82 combines apochromatic optics with fluoride glass and a substantial 82 mm objective to bring a significant increase in light throughput to the viewing experience. From dawn till dusk, the APO-Televid reveals astounding intimate high-resolution views of flora, fauna, and vistas.
The new High Lux Pro (HLP™) system ensures best performance in low light conditions, along with unsurpassed color neutrality and brilliance. High Lux Pro (HLP™) lens system means unparalleled color neutrality, high image brightness and maximum contrast sharpness. They also share the dual-focus system developed by Leica, which allows the focus to be adjusted by gently rolling the broad focusing wheels.
All of the spotting scopes feature the unique dual-focus system developed by Leica, a rugged yet lightweight magnesium housing, and timeless ergonomic design.

Leica's legendary optical performance becomes quite apparent when viewing through the APO-Televid 82. Apochromatic color-accuracy, fluoride lenses for startling high-contrast imaging, full multi-coating throughout the system, and the addition of Leica's proprietary AquaDura protective coatings all combine to produce scenic wonder without compromise.

The die-cast housing is constructed from a lightweight magnesium alloy for its remarkable strength and rigidity. The exterior is covered in a non-reflective matte-black rubber armoring for a bit of shock/impact resiliency and a positive tactile grip in all types of weather. The scope also features a rotating tripod collar that brings a not-so-subtle increase in versatility when positioning the APO-Televid 82 for digiscoping purposes.

The new spotting scope system with accessories provides easy and successful access to the world of digiscoping. With the Leica Q adapter, the digital camera Leica Q (full-frame sensor and special program) can be easily attached to the eyepiece of the spotting scope. Owners of Leica SL and M cameras can also photograph directly through the eyepiece, thanks to the optimized Leica 35-mm digiscoping lens. The T2 adapter makes the Leica 35-mm digiscoping lens suitable for all cameras with interchangeable lenses. The brilliant photographs can then be edited directly on the smartphone – via the Leica FOTOS app.
Capturing observations with a smartphone quickly and easily is now also possible. The sophisticated adapter system with magnetic mounts from the US company Ollin makes it possible to securely attach nearly any smartphone. 

The Leica extender 1.8x fits all four spotting scopes and almost doubles the magnification. A perfectly coordinated tripod from Leofoto is a brand-new addition. This very light carbon model features a fluid video head; the Televid spotting scopes can be inserted directly into the ARCA-SWISS rail. The Cordura ever-ready case with magnetic protective elements is precisely tailored to the spotting scope and protects it securely during transportation and in the toughest environments.
