The rangefinder binoculars Leica Geovid Pro 8x42 and 10x42 are now available in a special Orange Edition.
 Along with the exclusive design color, they offer top-class technical features in Leica’s premium portfolio. The orange housing makes the Leica Geovid Pro 42 Edition Orange unique, while offering several advantages in terms of safety and ergonomics: making the hunter more visible during a social hunt, and the glass easy to find in tall grass, for example. The family of Leica’s best laser rangefinder binoculars, based on more than 30 years’ experience, has grown: high quality, precision and speed, combined with full smartphone connectivity and the Leica Ballistics App, all in a special color. The Leica Geovid Pro 42 Edition Orange rangefinder binoculars achieve a superlative level of optical performance previously only available in specialty binoculars without rangefinders. One reason for this high performance is the Perger-Porro prism system used exclusively by Leica. The Leica Geovid Pro 42 Edition Orange models can be used wherever precise detail reproduction and twilight capability are required. Brilliant color, contrast, and image sharpness are indispensable, for example, when identifying animal species. With high light transmission combined with a large field of view, the Leica Geovid Pro 42 Edition Orange can replace a premium glass without compromise. The additional, unique ballistics features make for absolutely universal binoculars with unbeatable ballistic rangefinding – for all conceivable hunting and civilian uses.
The Leica Geovid Pro 42 Edition Orange models use the most advanced ballistics program. A ballistics calculator in the binoculars interacts with the Leica Ballistics App on the smartphone. Binoculars and smartphone communicate via Bluetooth®. This way, settings selected in the app (data configuration) can be transferred to the binoculars (calculator) – and the binoculars can transfer measurement data to the app. Alternatively, instead of the app, a Kestrel® weather meter or a Garmin® smartwatch can be connected to the binoculars.
The Applied Ballistics UltralightTM software, installed ex works on the Geovid Pro 42 Edition Orange, provides a database of G1/G7 data and over 740 factory ammunition cartridges. In addition, the extensive Leica database is available. Upgrading to the version Applied Ballistics Elite® is very easy. Accuracy of +/- 0.5 yds at up to 200 yds provides the results that bow hunters, in particular, require.
Terrain-point tracking assistant LPTTM (Leica ProTrack)
Along with the rangefinder, the Leica Geovid Pro 42 Edition Orange is equipped with a built-in compass. In conjunction with the ballistics calculator, the Leica Geovid Pro 42 Edition Orange can determine geographical positions in the terrain. The last five distances measured are automatically stored, and can be accessed for navigation. In other words, the Leica Geovid Pro 42 Edition Orange can safely guide the hunter to the target or another previously-measured point in the terrain. With this GPS tracking feature named LPTTM (Leica ProTrack), Leica addresses the need for a tool to quickly and ethically locate shot game.
